New Orleans | Lunch Spotted from a Billboard ๐๐ฝ๏ธ
๐ Red Fish Grill 115 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70130 Just after landing, we saw a billboard for Red Fish Grill and decided to check it out. Took a 30-minute Lyft to get there. โ Good on NOLA for checking vaccination records โ safety first! ๐ Complimentary Bread in a Paper Bag ๐ฅ + Butter ๐ง Sadly, not great. Drier and crumblier than old-school Chinese bread โ use your imagination ๐ฌ. Rating: 0/5 ๐ด Appetizer โ BBQ Oysters Very blue cheese forward โ if youโre not into that, skip it. Also seemed mixed with other cheeses. The fried oysters themselves were crispy and aromatic. Served with a special sauce and chopped scallions (I donโt do scallions or cilantro, so that was a miss for me). Rating: 2.5/5 (too heavy and rich for me) ๐ด Entrรฉes Crawfish Cakes & Eggs Also came with purple sweet potato, regular sweet potato, onion, and bell pepper. The eggs were runny but topped with a tart sauce that kinda killed the vibe ๐ค. Overall okay โ the roasted sweet potatoes were nicely caramelized and sweet. Rating: 3/5 Wood Grilled Bay Snapper & Gulf Shrimp Snapper + shrimp + onions + potatoes โ honestly, the only dish I truly enjoyed this meal. Simple, fresh flavors enhanced with light spices โ well done! Rating: 3.5/5 ๐ด Dessert โ Double Chocolate Bread Pudding If I could do it over, Iโd pour the chocolate sauce myself! The double chocolate ice cream was too sweet for someone like me who drinks milk tea unsweetened, but the texture was dreamy. The warm brownie at the bottom was sweet but delicious. The double chocolate topping is a personal preference thing. Rating: 3.5/5 #NewOrleansFood #StudyInTheUS ๐๐ค๐ธ
