New Orleans · Off-the-Beaten-Path Travel Spots 🍻 4 Days & 3 Nights ⛰️

The recent virus outbreak 🦠 has been really intense! After my hiatus, I’ve been bombarded with messages asking for updates. Now that I’m feeling a bit better, I’m finally here to catch up!! Flight from Toronto to New Orleans takes about 3 hours ✈️ Here are a few standout sights/activities I’d recommend: ▫️ French Quarter 🇫🇷 The steamboat cruise ⛴️ is definitely worth taking, but if you go in the evening— ⚠️ Remember to wear more clothes, because it’ll be really cold 🥶! If you skip the cruise, you can explore French Street and Jackson Square in 2-3 hours. ▫️ The National WWI Museum With multiple exhibition halls, it showcases various battles, military equipment, and the daily lives of soldiers 🪖. Some displays are truly shocking and eye-opening—definitely worth a visit 👀! ▫️ Oak Alley Plantation (focuses on luxury and estate grandeur) ▫️ Whitney Plantation (centers on the perspective of enslaved people) Both attractions are a 1-hour drive from the city center, and they’re close to each other. If you have time, visit both—experiencing them side by side makes the contrast more complete. Whitney Plantation offers self-guided tours and provides translation devices (with Chinese audio options 🎧)—great if you’re traveling with parents, so they won’t worry about not understanding! ▫️ Saint Louis Cemetery Number One 🪦 Due to New Orleans’ unique topography, many tombstones are above ground—this is one of the city’s most distinctive spots. Personally, I’d give this 5 stars ⭐; it’s totally worth visiting 👍! You’ll be accompanied by a guide who shares historical stories about the cemetery. The guide I had that day was super engaging and funny, making the whole experience really enjoyable. #Underrated #OffTheBeatenPathCitySpots #SlowTravelAroundTheWorld #Travel #HiddenTravelGems #NewOrleansTravel
