I was torn between Emeril’s and Nola Dakar — but Emeril’s got 2 stars and was fully booked 😔… Nola Dakar looked more like an “experience-first” kind of place, so I ended up switching to Restaurant August, recommended by Chase Sapphire — thinking I’d still get to try local fusion flavors. Well, Xiaohongshu didn’t lie 🙃 The whole menu felt like a fancy hotel decided to shrink every dish. The creativity felt a bit forced, flavors were just okay, and there were a few misses. The meal peaked early — right at the cornbread with caviar butter 🧈😍 — it was a sprint straight to flavor heaven! The crab + fat/seafood combo? Hard to go wrong there 🦀❤️ But dessert? A total waste of my calorie budget 😤 That granola was straight out of a supermarket box — I could’ve made it myself!
