New Orleans β No Roast Chicken? Christmas 3-Day Food Diary ππ
Cafe Beignet π4.5/5 If one location is crowded, there are two on Canal St within a block of each other. Beignets coated in powdered sugar are delicious and filling β an order of 3 is best shared by at least two people! Ruby Slipper π4.5/5 The French Quarter location gets busy β join the waitlist online and cross your fingers for an early table! Both the Eggs Cochon and Bayou Shrimp Benedict were great, but I liked the shrimp one a tad more. Tempting drink menu β almost started drinking in the morning! πΉ Boil Seafood House π4/5 Serves both Cajun boils and poβ boys. The Garden District spot was quiet at noon β tasty and solid! Oceana Grill π4/5 Fish from the special menu was delicious! The Cloud 9 cocktail tasted like Sprite (it literally has some) β pretty but not a must-order. GW Fins π5/5 Unique, elevated seafood. The Carbonara pasta was amazing! Note: Dress code β no T-shirts, short shorts, or athletic wear. Zesty Creole π4/5 Ordered the seafood jambalaya based on recommendations β flavorful, slightly reminiscent of TJβs chili onion crunch! A bit salty though, so I ended up eating all the little bread on the sideβ¦ and that bread was so good β crispy outside, soft inside! Line moves fast despite the crowd. Pat OβBrienβs π4.5/5 Both entrances on the map lead to the same place. Grab a drink at the bar, then head into the piano bar β awesome vibe! Their courtyard is also perfect for relaxing with a drink. The Hurricane is delicious! π‘ GPT says: Tropical Isleβs Hand Grenade is stronger than the Hurricane. And yes β drinks here are to-go! Be careful with that big soda cup β easy to drink too fast π . [Bonus] Namaste NOLA π4.5/5 An Indian restaurant right by our hotel β the aroma hit us from the street! Mostly Indian patrons inside. The roti was fragrant, and the roasted cauliflower was incredibly juicy. The owner said theyβd just sold out, so our cauliflower was freshly baked π. Airport Edition βοΈ After security, turn right β thereβs a Cafe du Monde before Concourse B! Since the airline lounge was small and noisy, I also went to Folse Market at the far end of Concourse C for Crawfish ΓtouffΓ©e. They serve classic NOLA dishes β perfect for a last taste before flying! #NewOrleans #NOLAFood #NOLATravel π€π·π
