New Orleans Food & Drink Journey #3 – Brennan’s
Such a grand restaurant! 🏛️✨ It was packed on Sunday morning — glad I booked ahead. Overall, it lived up to expectations ✅. Food 3.5/5 🐢 Turtle Soup – Pretty tasty with a hint of spice for depth. Otherwise, just a drinkable dark broth — the turtle meat didn’t stand out much. My partner joked: “If you’re eating turtle, braised with its soft edge is the way to go.” 😄 🦪 Eggs & Oyster Cocotte – Delicious! Savory baked oysters with eggs — packed with umami. Served with crispy baguette 🥖, but honestly, eating it straight with a spoon felt more satisfying. Highly recommend! 🦆 Duck Confit Hash – Duck confit was just okay — couldn’t really taste the duck egg. The wasabi mayo helped cut through the richness though. A solid choice if you’re tired of classic omelets or pancakes. 🍌 Banana Foster – Came mostly for the tableside flambé show 🔥🎩. The dessert itself? Exactly as expected — dangerously sweet 😅. Ambience 5/5 Gorgeous space — would love to sit outside next time! Spotted a golden turtle in the fountain 🐢💛✨. Service 4/5 Our main server was great but seemed busy — other staff stepped in, some a bit impatient. Also waited quite a while for the Banana Foster performance ⏳. Overall 4/5 Met expectations, a bit pricey but a nice experience overall. Menu has character — worth trying! #FoodFromAbroad #AuthenticTravelEats #StudyAbroadFeasts #GlobalFoodies #NewOrleansFood #NewOrleansTravel 🍽️🎷🌺
