🌴 New Orleans Food & Travel Diary | Food is Amazing! Attractions?

To be honest, besides the food, New Orleans doesn’t really have that many fun things to do 🙃. But to save you from bad experiences, I’ve put together a list of what’s worth visiting and what you can skip entirely! ✅ Worth Visiting Attractions 1️⃣ Oak Alley Plantation A classic Southern plantation that’s perfect for photos. If you love taking pictures, this is a must-go~ 2️⃣ LaBranche House Featuring classic French-style balcony architecture—every casual snap looks like a postcard. 3️⃣ Royal Street Lined with many art galleries and craft shops. It’s great for a relaxed stroll~ 🚫 Not Recommended Attractions (Minor Disappointments) 4️⃣ St. Louis Cathedral The cathedral is under renovation, with large areas blocked off. This limits photo angles, and overall, it’s just so-so. 5️⃣ French Market It gives off major “Yiwu Small Commodity Market” vibes 🤷‍♀️ (a famous wholesale market in China known for affordable, mass-produced goods). ✅ Must-Try Eats 1️⃣ Big EZ Seafood and Oyster 📍 2121 25th St, Kenner, LA 70062 The seafood is super fresh! The lobster is incredibly bouncy and tender. Highly recommend the Pick3 Basket (choose from Crawfish/Snowcrab/Shrimp Headless)—it even comes with free mussels, so the value is great. 2️⃣ Cafe Du Monde New Orleans’ classic combo: Beignets + iced coffee/hot cocoa. It’s extremely sweet, but that’s exactly what makes it iconic~ 3️⃣ Luke 📍 Address: 333 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130 A fusion of French cuisine and Southern dishes. The flavors are consistent, and it’s definitely worth a second visit~ 📌 For more details, check out my previous restaurant review notes! 🚫 Not Recommended Restaurants (Minor Disappointments) 4️⃣ Bearcat CBD 📍 845 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA 70130 This popular (internet-famous) brunch spot has long wait times for seating, long wait times for food, and high prices… The only thing that wowed me was the Lobster Daddy 🦞. The Crab Scramble was pretty average. 🌟 Summary New Orleans is totally a place where “the food hits, the attractions can be hit or miss” 😂. Feel free to visit attractions on a whim, but make sure to try lots of different foods—don’t miss out on the seafood, desserts, or French-Southern fusion dishes! #NewOrleans #NewOrleansFood #NewOrleansAttractions #NewOrleansEats #NewOrleansTravel
