New Orleans Food Diary π β Part 1
On our first day in New Orleans, we tried Middle Eastern cuisine at Shaya. The ambiance and service were great ππΌ (though the A/C was a bit chilly π). Fried Chicken Hummus β The star of the night! The fried chicken was crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, topped with a tangy, refreshing sauce that balanced everything perfectly π». Pita β Unlimited and free! Freshly baked in a large oven right beside the dining area π«π₯. Served warm and perfect for dipping into the labneh (Middle Eastern yogurt) topped with smoky beans β so flavorful! Slow-Cooked Lamb β Tender and rich, paired with creamy sauce, parsley, and fresh strawberries π for a delightful sweet-savory combo. Wood-Smoked Eggplant β Fresh and light, with cherry tomatoes and a slightly spicy tahini-like sauce that wasnβt heavy at all π. Fried Cheese π β Surprisingly delicious! Served with strawberries and mint, it felt like a savory-sweet treat. Highly recommended! Griddled Babka β Topped with almond gelato π¨. The warm babka and cool, nutty ice cream were a match made in heaven! I usually donβt love babka, but this combo was π€πΌ perfect! Ended the night completely stuffed but 100% satisfied β€οΈπΉ. #NewOrleansFood #NewOrleans #MiddleEasternFood #FoodieTravel #NOLA #TravelGuide #EatWell
