New Orleans Food Diary 📝
Came to New Orleans for the fresh oysters — here’s a quick review of three days of eating! 📍 Luke Rushed over for happy hour to devour oysters 🦪. Just look at how many we ordered for two people — that tells you how fresh and tasty they are! 😋💖 📍 Willa Jean A random find near the hotel. Ordered this tempting "hangover bowl" — and it was delicious! The beef was tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with potatoes and a fried egg 🍳🥔. 📍 Acme Oyster House Super fresh oysters here too, huge and juicy — pretty much on par with Luke 🦪✨. 📍 The Elysian Bar Came for brunch. The decor is charmingly rustic and vintage, but the omelette was just okay 🍽️. 📍 Big EZ Seafood The crawfish and Cajun flavors were pretty average 😕. Their oysters were seriously disappointing compared to other spots. 📍 Café Du Monde Of course, had to try the famous beignets! They’re like crunchy fried dough covered in powdered sugar — and I actually really liked them 🍩❤️. 📍 Pêche Seafood Grill Ordered the daily special: grilled redfish with coconut rice. The redfish was amazing! The coconut rice gave it a subtle Thai twist 🥥🐟. Heard their oysters are outstanding too, but after two days of non-stop oyster feasts, my stomach needed a break 😅. I found that ordering redfish and oysters in New Orleans is usually a safe bet! On our last night, we went to the classic Bourbon House and their redfish was also great 👍. Besides the must-see tourist spots, we spent our second and third afternoons at a piano bar in the French Quarter called Pat O’Brien’s 🎹🎤. Every afternoon, there’s live piano and singing — mostly older American classics (many I hadn’t heard before!). The crowd was mostly older locals, singing along and even dancing together — such a fun, lively vibe 🥳💃. On the third day, when it was too hot outside, we just went back and chilled there again 😌🎶. #NewOrleans #NOLA #NOLAFood #NewOrleansGuide #FoodieDiary #TravelEats
