New Orleans Food Guide – Part 1 🍽️
Recommended New Orleans restaurants — not hyped spots, but places I genuinely loved for their flavor, not just for photos. I’ve tried a lot of restaurants in NOLA, including the famous Drago's (only because it was in our hotel 😅) and others recommended online. But based purely on taste, here are three standout spots — and surprisingly, none of them seem to be trending on social media! 🍴 Joey K's Restaurant & Bar Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Must-order dishes: 1️⃣ Napoleon Appetizer (or ask for their most popular starter) Layers of shrimp and eggplant, topped with a rich crawfish and crab sauce — the broth also has crawfish meat, mushrooms, and corn. The eggplant is tender and lightly coated in what seems like a crispy yet soft batter — texture is absolutely divine! 😋 2️⃣ Seafood Gumbo Perfectly balanced — not too salty, packed with crab meat, and brightened with sweet corn and mushrooms. So good! 🤤 🏨 Hotel Dining Experience We stayed at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, and after a long day, we tried their in-house restaurant — which happened to be the much-hyped Drago's. Two letdowns: Lobster Risotto → way too salty Fried Seafood Combo → too much bland batter, not well-seasoned 😕 In my next post, I’ll recommend a truly delicious and authentic Po' Boy with amazing seasoning! #NewOrleansFood #NOLA #FoodRecommendations #HiddenGems #EatLocal 🦞🍛✨
