New Orleans Foodie Alert: Jacques-Imo's Is a Must-Try! π€π§β¨
We all know New Orleans is a food paradise β oysters, crawfish, Cajun seafood boils, fried chicken, po' boysβ¦ My taste buds were wowed again and again during our New Year's trip. But the most unforgettable spot? This wonderfully quirky restaurant that's not in the tourist zones or on typical "must-eat" lists, yet beloved by locals. We waited almost an hour on a Friday night β and it was totally worth it! π Shrimp & Alligator Cheesecake Yes, you read that right β every word makes sense, but together they take a minute to process π . Alligator meat? Cheesecake? Bizarre but iconic β every table orders it. Honestly? Delicious! My first gator experience did not disappoint. π¦ Crawfish ΓtouffΓ©e A New Orleans classic β this version is exceptionally well-made. Highly recommended! π Blackened Redfish Tender, juicy blackened fish in a creamy sauce β hard to find fish this good in the U.S.! No regrets, no disappointments β even with its quirky menu, everything we ordered was amazing. Around $50 per person, great value. Even the complimentary cornbread was insanely good! The whole street feels fun and lively, and the hour-long wait flew by. Oh, and the decor is so New Orleans β eclectic, artsy, charmingly chaotic. Perfect for anyone who loves the weird, wonderful, and whimsical! Jacques-Imo's π 8324 Oak St, New Orleans, LA 70118 #EveryCityHasAStory #NewOrleansEats #NOLAFood #NOLATravel π·π½οΈπ
