One of the most rewarding moments for a tourist is being praised by a local driver for your food choice. On a friendβs recommendation, I took a cab to Jacques-Imo's for dinner. When the driver heard the name, he shouted, "Theyβre amazing! You have to try their rabbit!" π° Though I didnβt end up ordering it, the meal still left me in awe β I was stunned from start to finish π€―. π₯ My top pick: Fried Chicken ππππππππ Beneath its perfectly crisp exterior, the chicken thigh was incredibly tender and juicy. Itβs just a simple fried drumstick, yet the flavor was wonderfully complex. Though the chicken had "moved on," it became a dish bursting with life. If I were a chicken, this would be a noble end πβ¨. π₯ Cornbread πππππ & π₯ Pork Ribs πππππ were almost tied. Both could easily hold their own on a Michelin-starred table. The cornbread, rich with garlic, added a savory satisfaction to the buttery sweetness. The pork ribs had a smoky aroma reminiscent of rich, cured meat.
