New Orleans Leisurely Travel Guide ๐ฟ๐ท
Most of this trip was spent exploring the French Quarter and nearby areas. ๐ฅ Wakin Bakin โ A small spot near the French Quarter, great value for money. Serves classic American brunch. We wandered in randomly when we were really hungry, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The decor is cute and cozy โ felt like a little โfateful find.โ The food is simple, solid, and satisfying โ nothing too fancy, but reliable and tasty for a comforting meal. ๐ฑ Bearcat CBD โ A popular brunch spot, but note: they automatically add a 20% service charge (common in New Orleans if stated on the menu). Service was just okay. While itโs quite famous, the food felt average overall. The rose latte was nice though โ a standout. Cute menu design, though! ๐๏ธ French Quarter Architecture โ The iconic colorful buildings come alive at night. Youโll often stumble upon impromptu street jazz and lively bars โ perfect for an evening stroll to soak up the cityโs vibe. ๐ฝ๏ธ GW Fins โ Highly recommended! We tried several signature dishes โ all excellent. Great service and atmosphere, but thereโs a dress code (smart casual). Reservations are advised, but if you go right when they open, you might snag a walk-in spot like I did. ๐ฅฅ Half Coconut Dessert โ Memorable and creative! Coconut ice cream made with real coconut meat, served in a chocolate โcoconut shellโ โ both delicious and clever. ๐ธ Cocktails at GW Fins โ Light on alcohol but wonderfully flavorful โ perfect for sipping through dinner. ๐ข Jazz Cruise โ A quintessential New Orleans experience! Two hours of live jazz on the Mississippi River โ breezy, scenic, and full of soul. If itโs cold, bundle up โ the river wind is no joke! Finally, we also rode the streetcar and visited the WWII Museum. This was a relaxed, joyful trip โ a chance to immerse in local life and feel the cityโs deep, passionate love for jazz. #NOLA #NewOrleansTravel #NOLAFood #FrenchQuarter #TravelGuide ๐๐บ๐ค
