New Orleans Restaurant Recommendations
Daisy Dukes Creole Kitchen Lots of Google reviews, high ratings, but the experience was just okay. The fried chicken was decent though. Olde Nola Cookery The fried alligator was a pleasant surprise — especially the delicious dipping sauce! Also loved their pasta, which I found more impressive than many Italian restaurants 🍝. Cafe Du Monde More famous than flavorful, in my opinion. The beignets are smaller and oilier than others. Family said the lattes were good, though. French Market Restaurant and Bar - The Original Average flavors, but the house-made sauce (according to the waitress) was tasty 👍. Le Petit Bleu A café tied to Commander’s Palace. The decor feels like an Americanized stereotype of French style 🥐. Crêpes are sweet by U.S. standards — too sweet compared to France’s. Oceana Grill Highly recommended — no wonder it has 18k reviews! Their pasta is a must-try, packed with shrimp 🍤. Skip the fried oysters — too much batter. Acme Oyster House A must for oyster lovers 🦪! We agreed it was the best meal of our New Orleans trip. Also recommend the bread bowl with rice (forgot the name 😅). Cafe Beignet, Royal Street My personal favorite café in NOLA! Beignets are larger and lighter than Cafe Du Monde’s. French toast and lattes taste almost like in France, and the decor is charmingly French 🇫🇷. Hyatt Regency New Orleans Bar Went mainly to use dining credits. Miso soup and sushi were average, but the Po’Boys were good according to family. Happy hour oysters (1.25 each, 3–6 PM) were the cheapest we found! Open to non-guests too 🦪💸. The Court of Two Sisters Worst buffet of the trip — limited choices and poor flavors. The “live jazz” only lasted about 10 minutes 🎷❌. #NewOrleans #FoodRecommendations #NOLAEats 🎉🍛🎶
