New Orleans Travel Guide – The Fun Stuff! 🎭🌿
Beyond the amazing food and drinks, here’s what we explored in NOLA: 🎖️ WWII Museum Right after landing, we saw ads calling it the “#1 Attraction in NOLA” — and we were lucky to visit on Family and Member Day, so entry was FREE! 🆓✨ Seeing WWII from the American perspective was eye-opening and deeply moving — a reminder of how precious peace is. ⚠️ The museum is huge! We spent over two hours but still felt we’d only scratched the surface. History or military buffs could easily spend a full day here. 🥃 Sazerac House A lively and free tour where you get to taste three cocktails 🍸! We learned about the evolution of New Orleans' cocktail culture and the art of distilling. Fun, flavorful, and only about 30 minutes long! 🏛️ French Quarter We came for the architecture, but LaBranche House and some photogenic streets were under renovation 🚧 — no pics, sadly! Still, the vibe was alive with street musicians and good energy. The French Market felt just like a night market back home — similar items, similar buzz! 🐊 Swamp Tour We saw almost all the wildlife active this season… but only a few alligators 🐊💤 Our guide said they’re almost hibernating — the ones we saw were sunbathing and totally still. We did spot raccoons 🦝, wild pigs 🐗, and beautiful birds! Funny how raccoons seem cute in the wild, but not when they’re digging through your trash… humans are so double-standard 😂 We’d originally booked an Oak Alley Plantation + Swamp Tour combo, but it got canceled — so next time, we’ll come when gators are more active and finally take those iconic Oak Alley photos! 🚋 Streetcar Snap On our last day, I snapped a photo of the classic streetcar — so charming! We didn’t make it to City Park or a few bars and shops I’d saved… but that just means there’s more to come next time. I may not have left my liver in NOLA… but I’m bringing back beautiful memories ❤️🩹 #StudentTravel #EatSeeExplore #NewOrleansDiaries #NOLATravel #WWIIMuseum #SwampLife #FrenchQuarterVibes #TravelMemories
