New Orleans Travel Guide 🇺🇸

New Orleans doesn’t have buffalo wings — it has oysters and cocktails 🦪🍹. Here’s a breakdown of my 4-day food & fun itinerary (split into parts due to length!): Day 1 – Evening Arrival: Landed at New Orleans Airport around 5 PM ✈️. Activity: Bourbon Street 🍻 – a rare concentrated bar district in the U.S.! After dark, the street feels intoxicatingly lively — the energy and friendly (sometimes rowdy) crowds really set the vibe! Dinner: Felix’s Restaurant Must-orders: 🔥 Charcoal Grilled Oysters (absolute must!) 🦪 Raw Oysters (fresh and briny) 🧀 Oysters Rockefeller (creamy and baked) Day 1 – Full Day Adventure Activity: Oak Alley Plantation + Swamp Tour 🌲🐊 Book a combo tour locally — options include Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, Airboat Tours, or TripAdvisor. Recommended: Plantation + Swamp combo, around $95 per person (prices vary by site). A shuttle picks you up from your hotel around 9 AM — provide your hotel name and address when booking! 🌳 Oak Alley Plantation (~2.5 hours) The famous Big House — enter via the back main entrance, with guided tours every 10 minutes. Then stroll the iconic oak tree alley — a filming site for Gone with the Wind and The Vampire Diaries! Grab bread pudding at the side shop or bring your own lunch. 🐊 Swamp Tour Don’t forget sunscreen! ☀️ A good captain might place marshmallows on alligators' heads — hilarious and cute! 😄 And yes — you get to hold a baby alligator! Smooth, cool skin and adorably dazed eyes 👀💚. Return to hotel around 5 PM. Dinner: ACME Oyster House 🦪 Famous and busy, but lines move fast! Sit at the oyster bar to watch shuckers in action — you might get bigger oysters! Must-orders: 🦪 Raw Oysters 🔥 Charcoal Grilled Oysters 🍚 Crawfish Étouffée (decent but not outstanding) After dinner, wander to the French Market (open evenings) for local arts and crafts 🖼️🌙. #NewOrleans 🌆🎷✨
