New Orleans Viral Restaurant Reviews โ Latest Roundup
๐ฝ๏ธ Brennanโs ๐๐๐ One of the few places open on Thanksgiving โ but because of the holiday, they opened at noon and only offered a $80/person 3-course set menu (kidsโ menu $25). Thanksgiving special Turtle Soup was bland, nothing like the flavorful turtle dishes we have back home. Seafood Gumbo and Shrimp & Grits were just okay. Crab & Mirliton ๐ worth trying. Veal Grillades โ tender veal with pickled kale, nice! Pecan Crusted Redfish โ decent, slightly tangy. Desserts: Bananas Foster, Chocolate Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Custard Curd โ all good. ๐ด Luke ๐๐๐ Mixed reviews online, but options were limited on Thanksgiving. Chefโs Gulf Dozen Oysters (happy hour before 6 PM) ๐ solid. Escargot & Bone Marrow โ snails were a bit mushy. Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp & Grits โ better seasoned than Brennanโs, but the sausage inside was an acquired taste. Moules et Frites โ huge portion, but a few mussels werenโt fresh. Kidsโ meals were generous. Thanksgiving offered a 2-course meal for $57/person โ steak was average, but the bread pudding was good. ๐ GW Fins ๐๐๐๐ Tempura Fin Wings โ must try! Crispy Pork Belly โ now served with pineapple instead of watermelon. Florida Rock Shrimp โ just okay. Scalibut (halibut + scallop) โ tender and delicious. Gulf Swordfish โ nice charred aroma. Red Snapper โ crispy outside, tender inside. Black Drum with Mushroom Risotto โ excellent combo. Dessert Coconut on the Half Shelf โ 100/10 for creativity and flavor! ๐ฅฅโจ ๐ผ Bearcat ๐๐๐ Lobster Daddy vs. Lobster Couyon โ same except sauce; preferred Lobster Daddy for its savory richness, but both were a bit heavy. ๐ฆช ACME Oyster House ๐๐๐๐ Only had time for their Chargrilled Oysters โ really tasty! Cooked but still tender, well-seasoned. ๐ ๐ฆ Big EZ ๐๐๐๐ Finally tried Cajun-style crawfish โ didnโt expect them to still be in season! Overall great, though the EZ Blend sauce was too salty โ wouldโve been perfect if milder. #NewOrleansFood #NOLAEats #RestaurantReviews #FoodieGuide #TravelFood
