New York's Dark Horse of the Year: Smithereens(1)
A restaurant I almost walked past turned out to be a recent highlight!! The chef hails from Massachusetts and does an amazing job with all kinds of seafood!! 🌿🌟Plus, with his background as a pastry chef, every dessert is a masterpiece. Even the pre-meal bread has a delightful texture, and the nori butter is so fragrant you can't stop eating it. 🍞✨ 📍 Smithereens - 414 E 9th St, NY 10009 We had a big group and almost went through the entire menu👇Tapas: 1️⃣ Buckwheat Pancake: A thin, scallion-infused buckwheat pancake with a creamy, smoky bluefish pâté. The combination of salty and sweet is just delicious. 🥞 2️⃣ Anadama Bread: Their homemade bread is a favorite of mine! The crust is crispy and chewy, but the inside is very soft, getting sweeter the more you chew. The nori butter is the finishing touch! 🥪 3️⃣ Hay Smoked Amberjack: The amberjack is tender, firm, and sweet, and it pairs perfectly with the grapefruit. 🍋 #NewYork 🌃🌟
