New York's Top Bars πΈ
πΏπI've been so busy with work lately that I haven't had a chance to update (to be honest, I still manage to visit New York 1-2 times a month; I just haven't been in the mood to write π€£). The following two bars are highly recommended, but I feel like the ambiance outweighs the cocktail-making skills. The Campbell π 15 Vanderbilt Ave, New York The Up & Up π 116 MacDougal St, New York The Campbell is located in the iconic Grand Central Terminal, a place everyone knows for its grand architectural presence that can awe anyone. πΏπOne of the hidden gems is The Campbell, which is as popular as any other famous bar. It opens at 3 PM, and by half past three, only the bar stools were available. By four, even the bar stools were taken, and you had to stand to order drinks. However, the bartender's cocktail-making skills that day were quite lacking; out of four drinks, only the "Penicillin" was decent. The Up & Up (Up and Up) is still a pretty tough underground bar to get into. The last time I went at six, the bouncer straight up said, "Sorry, no reservation, no seat tonight." πΏπ Today, I made it right at four when they opened, and the bouncer said he could give me a two-hour spot, only until six. I like their Glassware Key from the drink menu, so I ordered something similar. The overall atmosphere was great, but the cocktail-making skills were still lacking. Out of three drinks, I didn't like any of them. [facepalm] πΏπSailβer Inn tasted weird; As much as a duck had a sour egg white; Stay Cold had too much ginger and was way too spicy. But I'll still come back to try other drinks next time. #NewYork ππ
