New York | La Mercerie
🌿La Mercerie has become one of the hottest French brunch spots lately 🌟 They now offer both indoor dining and patio seating, and reservations are accepted. The indoor area follows a 25% occupancy requirement, while the patio is set up by the roadside, enclosed by a cute white picket fence and surrounded by flowers 🌸 🎢 If you want to try their famous French crepes, you definitely need to make a reservation before 12 p.m. 🌿We arrived at 1:30 p.m., and the crepes were already sold out. Yes, that’s right – the crepes can sell out that early! It made me think of the pancake shop at the entrance of my college campus that never closed! 🍔 We ended up ordering a mushroom dish, the chef’s special roast chicken, and an oat salad. 🌊 All three dishes were absolutely delicious – no disappointments at all! The mushroom toast with poached egg and cream sauce just melted in your mouth. The roast chicken had crispy skin and tender meat, with a sauce that had an Asian fusion flavor. To be honest, I thought the salad would be a bowl of greens, but it turned out to be more like an oat stir-fry topped with a cute sunny-side-up egg 🥚 We didn’t order dessert because we didn’t see anything on the menu that we particularly liked. 🍃 We saw a table next to us order a fig olive oil cake, which looked really beautiful, but after seeing their expressions when they took a bite, I decided to skip it – it probably wasn’t that tasty. Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with great food, definitely worth a return visit. 🌸The prices are a bit higher compared to regular brunch places, but the cute tableware, especially the various sun-shaped small plates, make it worth it. You can even buy them in the store! #PandemicEats #NewYorkBrunch 🌇
