New York | Unforgettable Uni at Zen Sushi 😋

📍 Zen Sushi Just tried their new 89💲14-course omakase, and it was absolutely amazing! 🌟 The quality of the fish is top-notch, super fresh. Right now, it’s not too crowded, and the whole experience takes about an hour and a half—perfect pacing. 🍣The chef used to work at Nakazawa, and it shows in how well he handles the fish. Each piece is a masterpiece. 🍣 The sushi pieces are on the smaller side, but by the end, you’ll definitely feel satisfied. The appetizers were a great start, tangy and super refreshing. The baby squid was amazing—no fishy taste at all. The prawns were soft and melt-in-your-mouth. 🍣The New Zealand scallops were bouncy and delicious. And the miso-flavored fish was a standout. The handroll with pickles added a nice crunch and cut through the richness. 🍣 The chef mentioned it’s the season for Santa Barbara uni, so we added an extra piece. It was incredibly fresh and sweet! But personally, I still prefer Hokkaido uni—it has a richer flavor. The toro was lightly torched with a blowtorch, bringing out the richness of the fat. So yummy! 🦀 At the end, the chef even invited everyone to enjoy a glass of sake. 🍶 🍣 The service was really attentive. If you’re into drinking a bit more, I’d recommend booking around 8:30 PM. #NewYork 🌇
