New York Art/Independent Bookstores (Part 1)

Chelsea Edition 🟦 192 Books 192 10th Ave, New York, NY 10011 Owned by the boss of PAULA COOPER GALLERY, this bookstore has an exquisite and diverse selection of books! 🌸🍃 It features literature, poetry, art books, photography collections, film reviews, and art critiques, with many works from Asia and Europe (non-English speaking regions). Here, I found Qiu Miaojin's "Montmartre Legacy" and "Crocodile Diary," as well as the new book by Yoko Tawada. 🟦 PAULA COOPER 534 W 21st St, New York, NY 10011 PAULA COOPER represents many artists who create conceptual art and installations. You can find many interesting items on the shelves. 🌸🍃 The store also has some avant-garde and experimental music tapes/CDs, such as S.E.M. Ensemble's "Spoken Music Concert" (which features John Cage performing his "Empty Words," bringing back memories from last year's philosophy class 😶‍🌫️) and Céleste Boursier-Mougenot's "From Here to Ear" (the piece with zebra finches hopping on electric guitar strings). I also discovered some artists whose works I didn't know before but are very intriguing! #NewYork 🌇🌟
