After having brunch at House of Joy, I turned the corner and had a little something extra because I couldn't resist. ๐๐ธ Since I was mindful of my sugar intake, I had no trouble finishing a whole dessert. Overall, it lived up to its reputation, with the filling being better than the pastry. I still haven't found a satisfying crispy puff pastry in New York. ๐ฑ ๐ฎ Vietnamese Coffee Boba Cream Puff $5.5 The latest limited edition. The coffee flavor is strong, with a mix of bitterness and aroma. It would have been better without the tapioca pearls. ๐ฎ Matcha Cream Puff $4.5 I didn't have high expectations, but it was a pleasant surprise. Although I didn't bite into the filling until the third bite (โฆโฆ), this was mainly due to the pastry issue. ๐๐ธ There was a layer of pastry separating the filling, which was actually quite generous and well-seasoned. It had a true matcha fragrance rather than just a green tea scent. ๐ฉ Black Sesame Mochi Donut $5.5 I expected a fluffier texture, something like a sesame ball, but it turned out to be quite dense. ๐๐ธWith the black sesame frosting, it felt like eating a deep-fried glutinous rice ball (โฆโฆ). My hands were quite greasy after finishing it, but it wasn't cloying while eating. It wasn't bad, but I didn't particularly like it either. ๐๐ธThe accompanying drink was the new Lychee Rose, less sugar and less ice. It was justโฆโฆokay. There were a lot of what seemed to be lychee seeds at the bottom, which was annoying to drink. ๐ Alimama Tea 89A Bayard St, New York, NY #StoreExploration #NewYorkStoreExploration #Baking
