New York Diary | Sonnyboy 🌟
I had brunch with a good friend. We made a last-minute reservation for 1 PM, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. The turnover rate was pretty fast. The dining area is small and right next to the kitchen, which made it feel cozy and intimate. 🍽️ 🎢 1⃣️ BURRATA + FIG TOAST $17 This dish is a real looker! The toast is huge, and while I didn't taste much sweetness from the figs, the syrup on top added a nice sweetness. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was definitely enjoyable. Almost every table ordered this, and it's great for sharing because of its size. 🥪 2⃣️ RICOTTA HOTCAKE $17 🌊 Delicious! If you have a sweet tooth, this is probably the best of the three options. The portion is generous, and the strawberry compote on top is just right—not too sweet. The hotcake is big and fluffy, and it looks amazing. I'd definitely order this again next time! 🥧 🌸3⃣️ HARISSA FOLDED EGGS $16 (plus $1 for Sourdough Toast) This one is also very popular. The eggs are creamy and delicious (make sure to eat them hot!). They come with fresh vegetables like kale and baby Brussels sprouts, and red bell peppers (which I thought were cherry tomatoes). 🍃 We added the toast for an extra dollar, and it was really good—chewy and substantial. However, it wasn't so amazing that I'd reorder it. 🍳 Next time, I really want to try their shakshuka! 😌 🌸 #NewYork #NYCFoodGuide #NYCExploration 🗽✨
