New York Disappointment | Sweet Rehab 🥀
Sweet Rehab is a French pastry shop that opened during the pandemic and has been the only dessert place I’ve frequented since moving to New York. As a self-proclaimed lemon lover 🍋, I’ve always enjoyed their lemon tarts, which were unmatched in taste in New York. 🍪However, I mainly want to complain about their regrettable seating policy: all indoor seats now require the purchase of a bottle of champagne 🥂, which I had no interest in and didn’t even bother to ask the price (probably sky-high, judging by the comments section where it’s mentioned as over $160 😈). I ordered two iced teas and ended up sitting at an outdoor table in 30°C weather. The waiter brought two plastic cups of iced tea and charged $12.52 per cup 😈. My favorite lemon yuzu tart has also gone up to $18 each. Thinking back to the past when I used to get freshly baked cookies 🍪 for free and be served by a charming Parisian-accented waiter, it’s really heartbreaking. I don’t know when this place will close its doors, but seeing the sparse crowd, it’s nowhere near as bustling as when it first opened. 😡 What a big disappointment I am. #NewYorkLife #NYCExploration
