New York East Village: This Chewy Delight π
ποΈIn the East Village, there's a surprisingly soft and chewy East Asian dessert called mochi, made by someone from Ukraine! π₯Ή The founder is a MasterChef Ukraine champion! I tried the Mango Passion Fruit Vanilla and Hazelnut Strawberry Chocolate flavors β both were amazing! The cream is dense and rich, creamy without being greasy, with a gooey fruit jam center. I love the layered texture from the outside in. π ποΈ The mochi ice cream is a bit sweet but refreshingly light. After trying the hard, supermarket version, I realized fresh mochi should be soft, sticky, and chewy (the pistachio flavor had a hint of almond, which wasn't my favorite). The store has bright pink decor with laser elements β a typical "New York Instagrammable spot" designed to go viral. The little shovels, chopsticks, and packaging (okay, maybe a bit over-the-top) totally won me over! π ποΈ The classic fruity cream flavors are safe bets and make great little gifts! π Pavlo Mochi #NewYorkRestaurantExploration #NYCTravel π―π
