🏙️Taverna East Village This Greek seafood restaurant in the East Village was on my list after seeing it on Xiaohongshu. The seafood special was indeed fresh, but the seasoning was way too bland. 🍤 🌊 The spaghetti with meat sauce was a highlight, though! It had plenty of meat, just the right amount of salt, and a hint of celery that added some nice texture. 🍝 For sides, I ordered French fries, but they were more like thick-cut chips. They weren't thin enough, so they had a starchy texture, and the only seasoning was sea salt—nothing special. 🍟 🌺 The dessert was a surprise. It came in two layers of failed puff pastry, which I didn't enjoy, but the middle was like a milk pudding—so smooth and not too sweet. I loved it! The top layer had cinnamon and a tangy sauce, but it just didn't work for me. Despite the issues, the pudding was so good that I still gave the dessert a thumbs-up. 🍰 They open at 12 PM on Saturdays, and the seafood special seemed to take a while. I arrived at 12, and there were only four tables occupied by noon. My dish finally came at 1 PM. ⏳ 🎢 Turkish Café Near Taverna While waiting for Taverna to open, I found a Turkish café nearby. They had egg tarts, but they were way too sweet, almost like condensed milk was the main ingredient. The pistachio milk was neither fragrant nor rich. They threw in a small croissant for free, which was a nice touch. 🥧 🍃 Le Labo Café Their latte was really good—smooth, rich, and creamy. It hit all the right notes for a perfect coffee experience. ☕ Nippon Cha I tried their matcha latte float and cheesecake, but both were pretty average. Nothing to write home about, so I wouldn't recommend them. 🥧🍵 🌸 #NewYorkFoodie #NYCAdventures 🌟
