New York Japanese Cuisine - KONBAN
⛈️ Tuna and Uni Rice: Not recommended. We rated this dish as the only mediocre and unremarkable one. Everything tasted very plain and straightforward, sticking to the basic flavors of the ingredients. 🌸 While this combination isn't bad, it doesn't offer any surprises either. The nori wasn't toasted and thus wasn't very crispy. 🍃 🌽 Desserts: Both desserts were quite distinctive! The signature corn ice cream is encased in a white chocolate shell, and you can even taste real corn kernel pieces inside. The sweetness is just right. 🌸 The other bowl, yuzu sorbet with honey yogurt and peach jam, is a bit more of an acquired taste. It's a very innovative combination, but the texture could use some improvement. 🌸 The sorbet mixed with pure liquid yogurt creates a double sourness in the mouth that takes some mental preparation and time to get used to. 🍋 The complimentary appetizers of small tomatoes and yuzu soda were also quite nice. 🍊 🔥 Overall: Whether for the ambiance or the food, this is a place I'd definitely visit multiple times! The restaurant features a Japanese garden setting, with perfectly controlled lighting and music volume, making it ideal for a cozy gathering with friends. 🌿 🌸 #NewYork #NYCFood #FusionCreativeDishes 🌇
