New York LIC Taiwanese Delight: Gulp
🍃This Christmas, I didn’t make it back to Taiwan, so I headed to New York instead. I discovered a place called Gulp near where I’m staying. 🌟The name alone told me it was a Taiwanese restaurant, so I had to give it a try. The decor inside is super Taiwanese, with tile walls, Datong dolls, and a mini pinball machine. I ordered the beef noodle soup set. 🍃The beef broth has that familiar Taiwanese instant noodle flavor base, and the meat is served in big, delicious chunks. The included salt-and-pepper chicken is amazing—the coating is perfectly seasoned, just like what you’d get in Taiwan! 🌟The side dish of glass noodles is pretty standard, but it feels just like what you’d get in a Taiwanese bento shop. 🍃I think it would be even more authentic with Hsinchu rice noodles. Sadly, I missed out on the braised pork rice this time. The seating is limited, but I highly recommend it! 📍 Gulp: 42-45 27th St, Long Island City, NY 11101, United States #NewYork # LIC #TaiwaneseFoodInNY 🍜🌟
