New York Manhattan Xinjiang Cuisine | It's Got Some Good Stuff
π Near WTC γCaravan Uyghur CuisineγAverage cost per person: $40-$50 The restaurant only has three staff members: a mom, a dad, and their daughter. So, the serving speed might be a bit slow. π Yogurt πππππ Must-order! The jam on top is sweet, and when paired with the plain yogurt below, it's super delicious. It balances out perfectly, so you won't feel it's too sour or too sweet. Naan with Mutton πππππ The mutton is very tender. The Xinjiang naan is soaked in the soup at the bottom. The portion is just right, neither too big nor too small, suitable for one person with a normal appetite or to share with two. It has a bit of a spicy kick from green peppers. The first bite is a pleasant surprise. One-Pound Lamb Leg πππ If you can't stand the strong smell of lamb, it's better not to order this dish. The lamb is tender, but the skin isn't very crispy. The smell is quite strong. Beef Fried Noodles ππππ The noodles are very chewy. This dish has a strong "wok hei" (the unique flavor from stir-frying), which makes it very fragrant. The taste is a bit on the salty side. Dingding Fried Noodles πππππ I took some Dingding Fried Noodles to go. I personally think they're a bit tastier than the beef noodles. They're flavorful but don't have that "wok hei." If you prefer stir-fried noodles with a strong wok flavor, I'd still recommend the beef noodles. Compared to the Tianshan Xinjiang Restaurant in K-town, I'd recommend this place more. The restaurant's decoration is quite unique, with many Xinjiang-themed trinkets on the walls. #NewYork π½οΈπ
