New York Restaurant Exploration: Hakubai
π66 Park Ave, New York, NY 10016 The eel rice trio is a flavor that never goes wrong. The server will perform a live rice-packing show right in front of you. First, you'll get a bowl of glistening, moist rice to βtaste,β then mix it with eel. Finally, you'll get half a bowl of soup. Two bowls of carbs are already very filling. π± π There's one complaint: the side dishes (cucumber, carrot, and kimchi) feel very Japanese fast-food style. My friend can't eat cucumber. They changed the side dish for the sashimi course, but forgot for the eel rice. It's probably prepared in advance. π The yogurt smoothie is so beautiful! Especially when the light hits the container, its shadow looks like a flower. The taste is very refreshing and tangy. I accidentally bit into some pomelo peel and got a sour jolt, but it perfectly cut through the richness of the eel. π π’ The chiffon strawberry cupcake is a zero-negative-review item! It's not sweet, light, delicious, and as exquisite as a piece of art. It looks just like an emoji. I highly recommend Hakubai start a strawberry cupcake delivery service. π° πΈ The three mini desserts, especially the pattern on the liqueur chocolate, are so unique. They are all quite sweet, but pair perfectly with green tea. π΅ The address is downstairs from The Prince Hotel. When I was looking for the place, I realized I had been here before to buy MarieBelle chocolate. π« π’After some time has passed, I can still remember some of the dishes, which shows Hakubai has a memorable quality. The taste is worth the price, and there's room for improvement in the details. My current favorite kaiseki is still Tsukimi. π #NewYorkLife #NewYorkRestaurantHunting ππΏ
