New York Solo | American Museum of Natural History / Gilder Center
On a whim, I visited the American Museum of Natural History this time, especially the new Gilder Center. It lived up to my expectations, with two special exhibitions, Invisible Worlds and Butterfly Vivarium, leaving a deep impression. The design of the new building itself is a perfect blend of architecture and natural science. 🐋 Invisible Worlds : On the third floor of the new building, this is an interactive exhibition that integrates sound, light, and electricity. Through imaging technology, it presents the microscopic world, which is invisible to the naked eye, on large screens and projections. As the images flow, it feels like you're entering a grand and intricate world. The visual impact is truly stunning. 🦋 Butterfly Vivarium : On the second floor of the new building, the best exhibition of the day is in a greenhouse simulating a tropical rainforest. Here, you can have close contact with thousands of butterflies, observing how they live and fly in their natural environment. If you're lucky, a butterfly might land on you. (Note: Those who are extremely afraid of insects should proceed with caution.) 🏜️Additionally, the fourth floor of the new building has an entire floor dedicated to dinosaur fossil exhibitions, which are incredibly impressive. On the first floor, there are mineral and insect exhibitions (I didn't go to the insect one due to my fear of bugs). PS: Special exhibitions require separate time slot reservations on the official website. There should be at least an hour between each special exhibition. The museum offers a total of 5 special exhibitions, and it seems the price for booking 2 is the same as booking all 5. If you have the time, you can arrange to see them all. #SoloExhibition #NewYork #MustSeeExhibitionRecommendation #AmericanMuseumOfNaturalHistory
