🌳 New York State | Rochester | Long Weekend

🌳 New York State | Rochester | Long Weekend | Travel A less than 4-hour drive from Toronto, stayed two days. The city is pretty small, easy to get around everywhere. Probably because it’s summer break and the university is empty—no crowds anywhere, no traffic jams, a super chill long weekend. Wonder if you could sail 🚢 from Toronto to Rochester—if possible, that’d be even more convenient. šŸ  School 31 Lofts šŸ‘ˆšŸ» Stayed here—a hotel converted from an old building with no front desk. Decor and furniture are very stylish, hallways are photogenic. Only a few rooms in the whole building, very quiet. Note: no elevator, rooms are on the third floor. No cribs provided, only extra single beds—we put the mattress on the floor for our little one to sleep. The hotel is next to the Memorial Art Gallery—didn’t go in due to time, but the entrance area is also beautiful. Photo 2 even has Dream Pool Essays engraved—so literary + artsy! šŸ¤¹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Strong Museum I’d call it the ā€œpoor man’s Disneyā€ā€”a museum both kids and adults can enjoy for two days. Played from 10 AM opening till 5 PM closing—at closing time, kids everywhere refusing to leave. Our little one had her first-ever day out without a nap, so tired she fell asleep during dinner… šŸ« University of Rochester Since it didn’t get dark until after 8 PM, we killed time after the museum by wandering around campus—ran into so many groundhogs and bunnies! šŸ½ļø Jines Restaurant Brunch was busy but the place isn’t small, so only waited 15 minutes. I had the Chorizo sausage benedict—omg so good. šŸ½ļø Nerdvana A restaurant where you can play games. The vanilla milkshake was delicious, food portions are huge—a true happy place for geeks. šŸ„²šŸ½ļø Melo Everything in the smoked salmon sandwich 🄪 tasted like it had 3x the salt—I nearly died. šŸ„²šŸ½ļø The Vesper Also avoid—that 🐟 felt like it had been reincarnated for days. šŸ¦“ Seneca Park Zoo Visited the zoo before heading back—not big, finished in two hours. Caught it during an elementary school field trip—so noisy my ears nearly exploded. All in all, feels like a city worth revisiting in winter—the ultimate indoor kid-friendly destination, a happy little town for young child caretakers ā¤ļøšŸ«°šŸ» #travel#TravelSnippets#WithKids#Rochester#NewYorkState#TorontoWeekendIdeas
