If I wanted scrambled eggs I would have simply ordered it! Not sure who they have working in their kitchen but this is NOT the omelette that I ordered nor have I been getting over the past year. I order a veggie omelette very often from this place and every time was great; you know perfectly cooked egg stuffed with veggies and cheese topped with hollandaise sauce😋. Well some inexperienced fool decided to SCRAMBLE my eggs, over cooking the veggies and then adding cheese to the middle and folding it as if they did a job well done! And to top it off there was no hollandaise sauce in sight! If I want a mediocre “omelette “ that’s scrambled I could’ve went to any other diner, because that sees to be what they’re all doing…..I come to this place specifically because they seemed to be the only ones that knew how to make an authentic in rushed omelette. Not only did I have to endure this deplorable slop whomever I spoke with over the phone was rude about it, saying that I should have “specified” how I wanted it cooked! As if I need to tell a restaurant how to properly prepare something that they had been doing right until now. NEVER AGAIN will I patron this place. UPDATE: It was properly redone and the employees were awesome about it when I got there. Thank you!

After wanting to try Jines for over 2 years now I finally visited this restaurant for the first time and can honestly say the food was extremely disappointing. I love trying to find some great chicken wings and visiting Jines I seen that they offered a 10pc wing for $18.99. I decided to try them and was sadly disappointed. I have had wings from Walmart's carryout cafe (under $7 for a 6pc and side) and I must say that these are the same wings Walmart offer. They were all different sizes and it was apparent that these wings came already seasoned and breaded. They were just taken out of the bag and dropped into the fryer and served. I also ordered the Chicken and pesto sandwich and was equally disappointed. I had to request an extra side of pesto to spread on the bread since the chicken and overall sandwich lacked flavor. On top of that the chicken breast was dry. I felt the sandwich had unnecessary toppings (lettuce and tomatoes). It comes with steak fries and the fries were not crispy and undercooked in the middle. After receiving a new batch of fries, removing tomatoes and lettuce from the sandwich, and adding the extra pesto the meal was finally edible. The service was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, based on the quality of the food I do not see myself returning. I go out to restaurants for good food and based on that alone is why I give 2 stars. I would not recommend the chicken wings at all…

3.5 stars for the food, 0.5 stars for the ambiance. This is an old restaurant but I had never been here until recently! We walked in and had to wait about 15 mins before being seated. The service was very quick (almost too quick as we were asked if we were ready or not before we'd even had a chance to look at the menu). Their ambiance is fresh and chic. Their hot chocolate was pretty decent. I got the wild mushroom and blue cheese omelet, my brother got the eggs Benedict and our friend got the pancakes. The Benedict portion was very small as my brother inhaled it. It was ok to taste. The omelet was decent and pretty heavy. The best part of it was the bread, which was delicious. The pancakes were decent too. All in all, it was decent food and for a decent price. I would recommend this place for a quick brunch in a nice part of Rochester. There is a parking lot a couple of blocks away. Do NOT pay there so that you can get parking validated through the restaurant. They don't validate prepaid tickets. Otherwise, you can look for street parking which is always a bit harder.

I have been enjoying the great food and excellent friendly service that has been the definition of the Jines Restaurant brand for five decades. Whether a business breakfast/lunch/dinner or just a great place for a meal that you know will be homemade and delicious, Jines Restaurant should be very high on your list of choices. Located in the trendy Park Avenue restaurant scene, Jines Restaurant is the cornerstone that has been serving some of Rochester's best food year after year while other restaurants come and go. During the busiest of hours, parking in the area may require a short walk from one of the side streets if the adjacent plaza parking lot is full. With that said, I personally don't mind the walk, as I enjoy viewing the local architecture of the homes and businesses in the area. Check out Jines Restaurant today, I think you will return again and again...Bon Appétit!

This place is great! The owner & manager & their staff are all professional & courteous! I felt very comfortable there. The food is scrumptious, freshly made, and with overly generous portions. Not expensive either! A wonderful place to eat, relax, & rejuvenate. My friend & I saw the manager down the street afterward & told him how impressed we were with the experience, & he told us about how they make things. Very reassuring & uplifting. He is proud of his job & of Jines. I just went back there in 2/19. Again, consistently great food! big portions for not big prices. The waitress was fun & friendly. The bussers were also nice. The staff seemed to be happy, which makes for a good atmosphere. The patrons were all smiling & also happy. The whole place has a good vibe. I will go back again when I'm in town. It's worth it!

Jines is an ESSENTIAL Rochester, NY restaurant! They serve Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner all day, but I have only had their breakfast food and can therefore only comment on that. The service is always spot on, and the servers are always very kind and welcoming. The prices have gone up a bit due to the shortages everywhere, but they're still very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and big enough so you're not on top of people sitting near or around you. Their Corned Beef Hash is homemade and some of the best I have ever had! I have also yet to find a restaurant that can beat Jines' Eggs Benedict! For brunch, they also pour a very generous Mimosa that I can taste is mostly Champagne! Whether you're visiting Rochester or are just looking for top-notch breakfast, Jines Restaurant is where you need to go!!
