New York Tavern 🥃 | Foie Gras Mousse ✨
Clickbait alert! I’ve been meaning to try this tavern for so long! I heard that tables are hard to come by, but it turned out to be easier than expected. I managed to book a table for this Saturday at 5 PM. 🎉 This winter in New York ❄️ has been freezing cold 🥶! We arrived early and waited outside, shivering. But finally, we got inside! The restaurant has limited seating, and the chef 🧑🍳 is literally cooking right behind you. 『Foie Gras Mousse』 I came here specifically for this dish, and it did not disappoint! The texture is incredibly layered. The garnish includes pears🍐 and pomelo jam (I’m guessing?). There’s a thin layer of refreshing gel on top, making the mousse incredibly smooth and surprising. But after half a bowl, it starts to feel a bit rich, and you can taste a subtle bitterness from the foie gras (which is not a flaw). 『Scallop and Caviar Fried Rice』 My boyfriend initially thought, “What’s so special about fried rice?” But one bite was all it took—he was amazed! The dish is a bit salty, making it perfect with drinks. The sauce is savory, and the rice is crispy and fragrant. 『Bread 🥖』 The bread platter served as an appetizer was amazing!! Sourdough, Garlic Bread, Lavash, all paired with Yogurt Butter. We devoured it in one go! The variety of textures was so satisfying that we wanted another basket. My boyfriend ordered a glass of 2013 dessert wine 🥃, and I have to say, it was quite delicious! By the end of the meal, we were full. The average cost was around $50. 💰 🍸 Farra #SavoringLife #NYCfoodie #DateNightRestaurant #MichelinExperience
