Newport's Hidden Gem Brunch Spot 🌊 Seaside Parakeet Cafe

Parakeet Cafe has quickly become one of my favorite brunch spots—everything on the menu is delicious, so you can order blindly without worry! The cafe faces the ocean and stays open until 7 PM. During the day, you get that California sunshine vibe, and by evening, you can enjoy a stunning sunset view. Absolutely unbeatable! This cafe originally started in San Diego (SD) and has multiple locations, but the Newport branch has been around for a while now. I’ve been here many times with friends 💕 (though they kept telling me not to post about it... haha, you know how it is 😆). So after testing it out thoroughly, I’m finally sharing! ☁️ I’ve dined in multiple times and even taken food to-go. Here’s a rundown of what I’ve tried: 🍽 Must-Try Favorites: 1️⃣ 🧇 Charcoal Waffle – A must-order! We get it every time. Unlike typical hollow waffles, this one is denser yet surprisingly soft and fluffy. Still dreaming about it. 2️⃣ 🍞 Truffle Scramble Toast – One bite and you’ll be in love. So satisfying! 3️⃣ 🥙 Parakeet Bowl – Their signature dish!! Adding salmon 🐟 makes it sooooo good (for "white people food" standards, lol). The mayo is the secret star. 4️⃣ 🍞 Eggs Benedict on Toast – Comes with spinach pesto, so it’s green like the Hulk 💚😂 🌟🌟 The above four are our top picks—everything else depends on the mood! 🍽 Other Solid Options: 5️⃣ 🍔 Best Burger Ever – Danny’s go-to when he can’t decide what to order. 6️⃣ 🫕 Squash Soup – A classic American-style squash soup. Surprisingly tasty! 7️⃣ 🍳 Eggs & Salmon – So photogenic in the sunlight! But taste-wise, it’s just a solid, well-balanced toast. 8️⃣ 🥣 Macrobiotic Bowl – Good, but the Parakeet Bowl wins for me. ☕ Bonus: The BLK Dot Coffee in the same plaza is a new addition—back in my college days, their Vietnamese coffee fueled me through all-night paper-writing marathons.
