Nikko Travel Itinerary π
Futarasan Shrine ππΈ Take the 2B bus from the entrance of Tobu Nikko Station. Although you'll pass the Shinkyo (Sacred Bridge) first, it's recommended to go all the way to the terminal stop "Futarasan Shrine" because it's uphill along the way. πΏπ It's easier to start at the highest point and then walk downhill. πΏ Toshogu Shrine ππΈ It's next to Futarasan Shrine. Just follow the signs. It's really crowded! Travel groups from all over the world are here, and you have to queue in several places. πΏπThere are audio guides available for rent at the entrance, including in Chinese. π Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park ππΈ You can walk here from Toshogu Shrine. This was the most surprising place of the day! I think of it as a Japanese royal garden and imperial villa. It's quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. You can just wander around and feel very relaxed. Highly recommended! πΈ πΏπ Shirane-zawa You can also walk here from the Imperial Villa Memorial Park. πΏπ There are some small Jizo statues, but since it involves climbing uphill, I just took a quick look around the entrance. π³ Shinkyo (Sacred Bridge) ππΈ You can walk here from Shirane-zawa. You'll pass a river along the way. Follow the river for a bit, and you'll reach the Shinkyo. The scenery is amazing! Note that you need to buy a separate ticket to walk on the bridge; it's free to view from the outside. π πΏπ After that, just take a bus back to Tobu Nikko Station from the Shinkyo. π TIPS ππΈ The Goshuin (sacred seals) from these places are all separate on paper. I even bought a special Goshuin book for this trip, but it turned out to be unnecessary. π There's a Black Cat Express service for luggage storage at Tobu Station, as well as coin lockers. You can easily store your luggage there. π± πΏπ There are plenty of places to eat right outside Tobu Station and after descending from Toshogu Shrine. No need to worry about getting hungry! π #Nikko π
