No Wonder Queenstown Leaves Me Missing It for 3 Years

The Ultimate Queenstown Guide! 🏔️ During my New Zealand trip, I spent 3 magical days in Queenstown—it was so fun and delicious that it’s now my forever favorite destination! I’ll definitely be back. Here’s my personally tested itinerary and food guide for my fellow travelers: 🏡 Where to Stay Mercure Queenstown Resort Many friends recommended The Rees, but it was fully booked, so we chose Mercure—and it was a pleasant surprise! Located on a hill by the lake (10-min walk), it offers unobstructed views of the water and boats, plus a pool, lakeside terrace with swings, and a cozy restaurant. Half the price of The Rees but with even better views! 🍽️ Must-Try Food Fergburger 🍔 The legendary "bigger-than-your-face" burger—order "The Big AL" (double beef patties, bacon, eggs). We confidently ordered two… and instantly regretted it (it’s HUGE). Patagonia Ice Cream 🍦 No girl can resist this! The rich, creamy ice cream is worth the short wait. Sit on the second-floor sofa, watch people outside with their cones, and ponder life’s inequalities. Flame Bar & Grill 🍖 A popular Instagram-famous spot, but the hype is real—their grilled meats are delicious. Cookie Time Happy Hour (6-7 PM) = Buy 1, Get 1 Free! ($4 for 2 cookies). The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies are gooey perfection. ⛷️ Best Activities Onsen Hot Pools ♨️ Choose the indoor pool—it’s more photogenic! The outdoor ones have an ugly grass wall. TSS Earnslaw Steamship Cruise 🛥️ A must-do in Queenstown! A 100-year-old steamship with a charming captain and live piano music. 2-hour round trip (time it right to catch the Skyline Gondola afterward). Or opt for the farm tour (4-5 hours, includes sheep shearing + buffet). Skyline Gondola + Luge 🛹 Ride up for stunning views, a café, and a restaurant. Wait until sunset—the town lights up like a fairy tale. Skydiving 🪂 We booked a beginner-friendly height, but weather delays led to cancellation. Still, highly recommend trying it in NZ! Lakeside Stroll at Dusk 🕊️ Watch joggers, fat sleeping ducks, and cheeky seagulls begging for food. Pure serenity. ✨ Final Thoughts Queenstown isn’t just about checking off attractions—it’s about slow travel, unexpected joys, and moments that stay with you forever. #NotJustForTheGram #NewZealand #Queenstown #TravelWithMeaning #RomanticizeYourLife
