North Italia Austin ๐๐ฎ๐น | A Quick Food Note
Tried some classic Italian dishes this time โ overall, a mix of pleasant surprises and slight letdowns! โจ Italian Meatballs ๐ Topped with tomato sauce and creamy ricotta โ and theyโre as big as ping pong balls! ๐พ The sauce was rich and flavorful, but the meatballs were a bit dry and overly salty. Not as juicy as Iโd hoped. ๐ White Truffle Garlic Bread ๐ Truffle aroma was strong and tempting as soon as it arrived ๐งโจ The edges were crispy and the center soft โ though not exactly "crispy outside, tender inside" as I expected. Truffle lovers would still enjoy it! ๐ฆ Squid Ink Tonnarelli Jet-black noodles made a bold visual impact ๐ค The shrimp and squid paired well with wild fennel pollen and spicy tomato sauce โ tangy, aromatic, and delicious! Just be prepared for black lips and teeth ๐๐ ๐ฎ Dessert ๐จ We had Tiramisu and Gelato. The tiramisu is made fresh daily โ better texture than Whole Foodsโ (less soggy and loose!), though the portion is huge. You might need to share! ๐ท Wine: Greco di Tufo A safe pairing โ nothing extraordinary, but it did the job. โณ Dining Experience Food came out pretty slow โ each dish took a while. Tables are quite close together, and it can get noisy when busy. You might have to speak upโฆ or accidentally hear your neighborsโ conversations ๐ ๐ Final Thoughts A nice spot to catch up with friends over Italian specialties. Recommend: Squid Ink Pasta + Truffle Bread. Meatballs? Maybe skip unless you like โem firm and salty. #Austin #ItalianFood #FoodReview #SquidInkPasta #TruffleLover
