Northeastern Restaurant Review | Albany, New York
Many people recommended Northeast Chinese II, claiming it’s far better than similar spots in Boston. So, I made a special trip to try it. Overall, if you’re passing by, it’s definitely worth a visit. Dishes: 🥰【Guo Bao Rou (Sweet and Sour Pork)】 The texture of the crispy coating was perfect. However, the sweet and sour sauce leaned too heavily on the sour side—so much so that it was almost pungent. The balance between sweet and sour felt a bit off. 🌟🌟🌟 🥰【Liu San Yang (Sautéed Trio)】 The ingredients were fresh: the pork liver was tender and smooth, while the pork stomach and intestines had a pleasant chewiness. The seasoning was well-balanced, making it a perfect pairing with rice. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🥰【Dry Pot Pork Intestines】 Having already enjoyed the Liu San Yang, this dish completely stole the show. The pork intestines here are an absolute must-order! They were the highlight of the meal—cleaned thoroughly, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and seasoned with a perfectly balanced spicy and savory flavor. The layers of taste were exceptional. 🥰【Basi Sweet Potato (Candied Sweet Potato)】 Based on reviews stating that their other candied dishes couldn’t compare to the sweet potato version, I went for it. The sweetness was just right, and the sugar strands glistened under the light, resembling delicate edible art. PS: There’s a highly recommended jianbing (savory crepe) spot near the restaurant. I gave it a try, and it lived up to the hype. The jianbing was outstanding, though the drinks were just average. The place is called Romanteac Bubble Tea Dessert. #Albany #AlbanyEats #AlbanyRestaurants #NortheasternCuisine #UpstateNY #NewYork #AlbanyNY #AlbanyFoodScene#foodguide
