Nottingham is Actually Pretty Fun!
When I was studying in Nottingham, I always thought it was a bit too “villagey” and boring—I even felt a bit isolated after a while 😅. But looking back through my photos now, I realized my time there was actually pretty special! Here’s a simple little guide for you 🧡. 🏰 Nottingham Castle (NG1) Entry ticket: £12 (valid for a whole year!). Not super worth it if you only go once—maybe someone should start a ticket rental service? 😂 Inside, there’s a café, a viewing platform 🏙️, exhibits about Robin Hood, and even AR interactive experiences. If you live in Newtown or Newland, the annual pass is a great deal. Perfect for evening walks or even studying with a view when you’re sick of the library 💻✨. 🐱 Kitty Café A cat café near the castle—great when you’re craving some feline company 🐾. Fair warning: the cats here are super aloof 😼. You’ll be the one chasing after them—don’t expect cuddles! 🍸 The Alchemist A stylish bar in the city centre with fun, creative cocktails 🍹. But the real star? Their fish and chips! A bit pricey (over £20) but SO good 🤤. 🐑 Stonebridge City Farm (NG2) A small city farm with lots of sheep 🐑. You can buy feed for them! Not huge, but super heartwarming—perfect for animal lovers like me 💖. 🛍️ Fleurtation (NG3) – Jellycat Discount Store Sells Jellycat at 20-30% off retail 🧸. Hard to find popular styles in store, but they offer online shopping 🛒. Not much else around—better to order online unless you’re nearby! 🌊 River Trent Underrated but gorgeous 😍. Perfect for a sunny day walk. In spring, you might even see mama ducks with their ducklings—so cute 🐥! 🦌 Wollaton Hall & Deer Park A huge park with wild deer 🦌. ⚠️ DO NOT FEED THEM! It’s prohibited. If deer start approaching humans for food and cause accidents, they may be culled 😢. The hall itself is a natural history museum and a Batman filming location 🦇—worth a peek! 🌳 University Park Campus Even if you don’t study at UoN, come visit! It’s basically a massive park 🐇🐿️. You’ll spot rabbits and squirrels everywhere. You can even go boating in summer 🚣♀️. That’s all for now—might add more later! #Nottingham #NottinghamTravel #UKTravel #ExploreUK #UKHolidays
