Nui - Creative Korean Fusion for Drinks & Small Bites 🍶

💬 Finally sharing this post I've been sitting on for exactly a month! Grabbed some friends fresh off the plane from China and tried nearly the entire menu—portions are small, so ordering widely is a must. 🔸 Potato Salad - Small (8) / Regular (12) Creamy but basic. Upgrade with shrimp (+8) or sausage (+6.5). 🔸 Tofu Egg Jjim ($11) STEAL OF THE NIGHT! Silky steamed egg topped with crispy garlic bits, shrimp, and fish roe (garlic = MVP). 🔸 Seafood Jeon ($23) Not your average pancake—think thin crepe loaded with shrimp, chives, cilantro, cumin, and Brazil nuts. Dip in sweet soy sauce! 🔸 Vinegared Mackerel ($19) Lightly torched mackerel sashimi (fishy aroma, but sweetened with nori/wasabi). Like a deconstructed hand roll! 🔸 Pork Jowl Sooyuk ($23) Grilled pork neck—irresistibly aromatic but gone in four bites. 😭 🔸 Yook Hwe ($21) Beef tartare salad (arugula base) with lemon-shiso dressing. Skip the bibimbap version—dressing’s too mild for rice. 🔸 Dweji Rice Bowl ($20) Hubby’s fave! Charred pork slices with BBQ sauce, mayo, and scallions. 🔸 Seafood Rice Bowl ($26) Salmon donburi w/ seaweed vinaigrette rice + fish roe. Meh—stick to Japanese versions. 🍹 Yuzu & Matcha Soju Cocktails (Forgot names but SO good!) 📍 Nui 4811 Main St, Vancouver (Street parking = competitive!) 💬 Verdict: Tiny industrial-chic spot ideal for drinks + sharing plates. Avoid weekends! Team Crispy Garlic Egg or Team Pork Jowl? What would you try first? Comment below! 👇 #VancouverEats #KoreanFusion #HiddenGem #SmallPlates #FoodieFinds #DrinksAndBites
