NY's Swan Lake Castle π Absolutely breathtaking fall views! π₯Ή
Last weekend, I finally visited the long-awaited Mohonk Mountain House, and the autumn scenery here completely blew me away. It fulfilled almost all my fantasies about fall: a castle, a lake, a canyon, wooden pathways, and rolling mountains. The occasional "Jesus rays" of light added a touch of mystery. This Victorian-style castle, built in 1869, also serves as a resort hotel. Nestled in the Mohonk Preserve in the Hudson Valley, it overlooks the mountains and water, offering a stunning view of the castle and the Hudson River plains from the summit. If you have enough time (and budget π°π°), consider staying overnight to experience the castle under moonlight or morning mist. Alternatively, you can opt for a day pass like I did for a round trip. I chose the classic $35 day pass, parked at the Mohonk Mountain House Gate House, and hiked about 40 minutes to reach the castle.
