🍴 One if by land, two if by sea 📍 17 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014 Celebrated my birthday eve here with my 🐸, and the experience was nothing short of magical! ✨ Tucked away in the West Village, this historic restaurant—housed in an 18th-century carriage house—feels like stepping into a timeless love story. With the holiday season approaching, the space was adorned with elegant Christmas decor, adding an extra layer of warmth and charm. The romance here isn’t just in the architecture; it’s in every detail: roses and candlelight on the tables, soft live piano melodies, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and grand. 🎹 We even had a sweet coincidence—the family next to us was also celebrating a birthday, and watching the two daughters play word games with their parents made the evening even more heartwarming. The menu offers two tasting experiences: 💰 $125 – 3-course 💰 $159 – 7-course (highly recommended!) The star of the night was undoubtedly the Beef Wellington 🥩. Ordered medium-rare, it was sheer perfection—flaky, buttery pastry wrapped around tender beef, with a rich layer of mushroom duxelles in between. Each bite was pure delight! Other standout dishes included the delicate scallops, a beautifully seared duck breast, and for dessert, the Chocolate Soufflé paired with vanilla ice cream. Cutting into the warm, molten-centered soufflé and combining it with cool, creamy ice cream was a heavenly contrast. 🍫❄️ As a birthday treat, they also brought a lovely complimentary dessert—a thoughtful touch. Service was attentive and gracious (and yes, I may have glimpsed a $200 tip on a neighboring check—talk about generous! 😉).
