Quite honestly, if I could give them a negative rating I would. My rating is more for how they run the place and not for the food. Lets get the positives out of the way first. Positive - Food - Beef Wellington was amazing, Foie Gras was good, Lamb Shank was ok at best and dessert was pretty decent. Positive - Ambiance - Pretty cozy place, had live piano playing with roses and candles at the table. While all of that is good, I am not really sure why they are regarded one of the most romantic restaurants, quite honestly, I have been to many others which I would deem to be far more romantic. Negative - First the Bad - The waiters forgot we were seated at a table for nearly 10 min, they didnāt give us menus, light the candle at the table, no water. I had to go remind them when they were at another table and then they apologized and got things going. I will say that once they realized their mistake the service did take place at a brisk pace. Negative - Now the Horrible - When I had made the reservations, the person had told me they were operating at 25% capacity and doing socially distanced tables. I had called again a few days later to request a specific table and again I was told they are operating 25% capacity and hence canāt guarantee a specific table (which is fair). However when we arrived it was a complete nightmare, the restaurant was operating at 100% capacity and there was āZERO SOCIAL DISTANCINGā. They āDID NOT EVEN CHECK TEMPERATURESā before seating customers. Once we were seated, I was really uncomfortable sitting really close to other customers. I had called the waiter and asked how come they are not operating at 25% capacity and didnāt check temperatures before letting customers in. He told me that he just works here and does not know and will call the manager. The manager came by 2 minutes later, he had a mask on but that did not cover his nose and only covered his mouth and I had expressed my concern and he simply shrugged his shoulders like it is what it is and they are busy. He did offer to take us upstairs to another area which was lot less crowded and we were able to find a table in the corner of the room with no other customers nearby and we decided to move there for our dinner. I cannot understand how an establishment that charges $100+ for a 3 course meal canāt afford to buy a $20āish thermometer to check customers temperature before letting them in. Every other place I have been to does that. It is completely unacceptable. In conclusion, I understand we all have to make a living and the pandemic has wrecked havoc in all our lives. But if you are operating an establishment you will have to ensure your customers safety. They care about making a quick buck but donāt care about their customers safety. I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE & I plan to search online to see how I can report their practice to the authorities. To anyone that reads this I will say āAVOID THIS PLACE COMPLETELY TILL THE...

I had booked a table 2 months in advance, as we were travelling to NYC from Europe and I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with an amazing experience for his 25th birthday. I was well aware that the place was quite pricy, but I considered it completely worth it, as the quality of the food and the romantic setting should be outstanding.
Well let“s just say. It wasn't.
Starting with the food: It looked quite nice, but the taste was completely underwhelming. For instance the starter, Blini with Russian caviar. A dish that I love and have tried at many different places, also in way less fancy restaurants than this. Never has it tasted as terrible as this. Was not able to finish the dish. Moreover, the main dish, my boyfriend had the Beef Wellington and I, the Baked Cod, both dishes were bland. The chocolate suffle was of course tasting like chocolate, which is always a great thing, but it could also have been bought at a normal supermarket. Really nothing else than suffle and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The Service and Atmosphere: It looks nice inside, and it is quiet. However we were disappointed to see that there was actually no one else in the whole restaurant at 9 o clock. The atmosphere was therefore quite non-existent other than some music and some waiters, standing still in a corner. We also felt very rushed to leave by the staff. We still had wine in our glasses and would have loved to sit a little longer to talk, but the vibes of the awaiting staff made us decide to go earlier.
All in all: I was so excited to visit this place. To have a culinary and romantic experience. I had read multiple reviews and as I saw the pictures of the great looks of the restaurants, I decided not to think of all the negative reviews. Leaving the restaurant I was quite sad, both for the how I had just spent over 300$ for something that was so underwhelming and disappointing, and also that I had looked so much forward to surprising my boyfriend, with something great. The restaurant was pretty. Other than that, the food was bland and not tasteful. There was not an amazing atmosphere, no other people in the restaurant and we were feeling rushed to leave by the waiters even though it was way before closing time.
So if you are, like I was, considering to take your significant other to a night they won't forget, please, I will really just recommend you to not go here..!
There are so many other places that for this price and even less, will offer you an outstandingly romantic setting, but also will serve you terrific food, great atmosphere, outstanding service and an experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife wanted beef Wellington for her birthday so beef Wellington is what my baby is going to get.
Here we go.
Marcus our server was the only good thing about this restaurant. Thank you Marcus.
First we arrive and the host looks me and my wife up and down with the nastiest smug attitude. And we were following the dress code. We looked great! Some tired looking blonde woman. No smile no āwelcome to one by land...ā I had to ask her how are you?... maybe sheās mad sheās a host and has to seat minorities that are more successful then her. Thatās the vibe we got. This is not some young hostess. She definitely looked over 30 and should know how to act.
Then we get seated, we walk through this beautiful dining room up some stairs to some room that looks like an attic with brick walls and a few mirrors. Horrible ambience in this upstairs attic type room. I requested a table downstairs and was told there would be a wait. This was at 6 PM. The downstairs dining room was almost empty.
We order the seven course chefās tasting menu. The food did taste delicious. But, later on that night I felt like I had food poisoning. I was in the bathroom all night. Now my wife in the morning has a terrible stomachache. We had dinner on December 14, 2018. Anyone else out there eat on the same day and not feel well?
Dessert was decent. I asked for the bill and gave them my credit card. They bring the Bill but no credit card. Me and my wife start looking under the tables, super awkward. We wind up leaving without my credit card. Marcus our server was fantastic eventually came out of the restaurant and caught us in time outside and had my credit card. He said it was under someone elseās table. I believe him.
The bill comes in itās $428. We both had the seven course tasting menu in about two drinks each. $428! Gtfoh
this horrible experience has actually made the decision for me that I no longer like to go to Manhattan, manhattan has changed for the worst And we can find everything we need and want right here in Westchester County. After years of working and enjoying all of the cuisine and nightlife Manhattan has to offer, I officially have to say goodbye. The neighborhoods where this restaurant is located is so different. It used to be so much fun on 7th Ave., South when they had dr Jekyll and Mr. Hydeās and sushi somba.
I do not recommend this restaurant. Over priced. Ugly attic seating. Food...
