NYC｜Another Overhyped Letdown… 😔

📍Sushi Makoto Went in with high hopes thanks to rave reviews and a 4.9 Google rating—left utterly disappointed. While the appetizers were passable, the sushi was a letdown. 🍣 Quick rating: Squid 💣 | Shima aji 💣💣 | Amberjack 👍 Scallop 💣 | Lean Tuna 💣 | Otoro 💣💣 Trigger Fish 👍 | Spot Prawn 💣 | Snapper 💣💣 Uni 💣 | Toro Hand Roll 👍 The rice was too small and sour for my taste. Several fish pieces had noticeable sinew and chewy membranes, which ruined the texture. The uni lacked creaminess and tasted slightly fishy—first time I felt nothing eating sea urchin🤦‍♀️ Truly wish NYC food influencers would stop overselling mediocre spots.
