NYC|French-Korean Fusion at Soogil 🥩 Crispy & Tender Beef Wellington

NYC Restaurant Week has started again, and Soogil is back with a nearly unchanged menu. Here’s a winter review for those planning a visit! We received a small complimentary starter—fig with Korean-style beef roll, unique and tasty. 🐟 Yellowtail Amberjack + Caviar (+$10) Fresh fish with creamy sauce and pomegranate seeds—light and elegant. 🦪 Scallop Soup Tender scallops in a Korean doenjang broth with black truffle—savory and fragrant. 🥩 Beef Wellington (+$28) The whole Wellington is paraded around the dining room before plating. Crispy pastry, tender beef—flavorful and satisfying. 🦆 Duck Juicy with rich flavor, no gaminess, paired with a well-balanced sauce. 🍦 Mango Sorbet Adorably shaped like a sandwich with a puff pastry base—refreshing! (This season’s version is makgeolli-flavored.) 🍨 Chocolate Cake & Vanilla Ice Cream Small but just right—not overly sweet. Many appetizers and mains require an upcharge. If you and a friend want to try different dishes, the bill will easily surpass $60—almost like ordering à la carte. In terms of Restaurant Week value, it’s just okay—more about exposure than generosity 😅. The food aims for fine dining, but the ambiance is cozy, not fancy—dim lighting and close seating. Better for a casual tryout than a romantic date night. Still, if you’re craving Beef Wellington in NYC, here’s another option to consider. 📍 Soogil #NYC #RestaurantWeek #Soogil #BeefWellington #FrenchKorean #NYCEats #FoodieReview #NYCRestaurants #FusionCuisine
