A tiny, minimally-seated bakery in NYC, Ando draws crowds for its Instagrammable Asian-inspired treats. We visited on a quiet afternoon and tried two of their most talked-about items β with mixed results. π΅ Matcha Basque Cheesecake ($15) Smooth, rich, and pleasant β but not extraordinary. Similar quality to many local bakeries. π Salted Egg Yolk & Taro Puff ($16 for 3) Disappointingly mild in flavor, with a heavy, cloying filling. Even as a sweets-lover, I found half a puff overwhelming. Cute for a photo, but the taste doesnβt quite match the hype.
