NYC Ferry Has Resumed With Partial Service
On Tuesday, January 27, the NYC Ferry was suspended due to frigid temperatures that froze both the Hudson and East Rivers. Now, more than two weeks after the city’s go-to waterway stood frozen in time, the NYC Ferry has resumed with partial service. As of today, Wednesday, February 11, the ferry will begin operating a modified Rockaway-Soundview route with the following landings in service: * Ferry Point Park * Soundview * East 90th Street * East 34th Street * Stuyvesant Cove * Wall St./Pier 11 * Sunset Park/BAT (not operating) * Rockaway (not operating) Sunset Park/BAT and Rockaway are still impacted by changing ice conditions and will remain closed. All other routes and landings also remain closed. You can view the Soundview Route partial service schedule here. The NYC Ferry Team remains hopeful that, as temperatures rise this week, they’ll be able to re-open other routes in the coming days. They stated: > NYC Ferry continues to monitor landings daily. We will continue to inform riders towards the end of each day about routes and landings that will open the following day. As temperatures rise, we anticipate more landings and routes will resume service in the coming days. For the latest information and real-time updates, please check the New York City Ferry website.
