As of 2pm on Tuesday, January 27th, NYC’s go-to waterway cancelled all upcoming trips due to the conditions in New York Harbor. Considering we’re in a **Code Blue** and bound to experience **NYC’s first zero-degree temperature in a decade**, we should’ve anticipated incredibly icy conditions — especially by boat. But what’s next? Well, it looks like we’re going to have to be patient with Mother Nature. What to know about NYC ferry service ------------------------------------ According to a statement from the **NYC Ferry**, > Operating in heavy ice conditions requires slow speeds and little to no notice regarding landing service suspensions. NYC Ferry crew will continue to monitor evolving waterway conditions and prepare the fleet to ensure service can resume once conditions improve. We will provide ongoing updates regarding resumption of service as soon as it is safely possible to do so. According to an Instagram Story from NYC Ferry, this suspension could last several days. Have a look at the notice below: As of 5:20pm ET on Tuesday, there have not been any announcements regarding service resuming, so if you’re thinking about your evening commute, you’re going to have to trek over to the train instead. We suggest making alternate plans for your Wednesday-morning commute as well.
