🍰 NYC Sweet & Bakery Diary | 11 Spots for Breads & Desserts πŸ₯

A roundup of some recent bakery and sweets stops around the city: Heritage Grand Bakery – Classic French pastries done well. The mille-feuille and flan were smooth and rich with vanilla, and the puff pastry was delicate and light. Librae Bakery – Famous for their pistachio rose croissant. The pistachio flavor is strong and the rose adds a lovely floral note, but the filling made it quite rich and heavy. Bread Story – A standout for almond pastries! Everything was nutty, not too sweet, and free of artificial flavors. The gateau basque was dense and buttery, and the chocolate almond croissant was more like crisp pastry wrapped around thick almond filling. Also loved their apricot tart – perfectly balanced. P6: Claude Bakery – A bit rough around the edges. The cruffin and Basque cheesecake were slightly overbaked, and the banana pudding had a grainy texture. Dominique Ansel Workshop – So many options and the buttery smell outside is heavenly! But some croissants were dry inside. Favorites were the passion fruit brioche and the cannelle. SmΓΈr Bakery – Their cardamom and cinnamon buns are rich, oily, and sugar-loaded β€” deeply aromatic and energizing. Sandwiches are also great here. Fabrique Artisan Bakery – Famous for their cardamom and cinnamon buns, which are less oily than SmΓΈr’s and beautifully shaped. Kopitiam – A Malaysian spot known for kaya toast β€” fragrant with pandan and coconut, slightly sweet, and perfect dipped in soft-boiled eggs 🍳. Supermoon Bakehouse – Tried the purple sweet potato + pandan ice cream sandwich with cornflakes and kaya jam. The blondie-like exterior was sticky and overwhelmingly sweet.、 Do Not Feed Alligators – Fresh fruit tarts with a subtle soy-milk-like flavor. Simple and pleasant. SALSWEE – Cakes here are nicely balanced, not too sweet. Loved the pistachio raspberry cake, but skip the laminated pastries β€” they’re dry and hollow. From flaky croissants to rich almond treats, NYC’s bakery scene always has something new (and sweet) to try. #NYCBakeries #NYCSweets #PastryTour #BakeryHopping #DessertLover #NYCEats #FoodDiary #NYCFoodie #SweetTooth #BreadStory #KayaToast #CinnamonBun #TreatYourself
